Speed Meter GO

Effective Date: April 2026

Amila Prabath Kumara ("we", "us", or "our") built the Speed Meter GO app as a Free app. This SERVICE is provided by us at no cost and is intended for use as is. This page is used to inform visitors regarding our policies with the collection, use, and disclosure of Personal Information if anyone decided to use our Service.

1. Data Collection and Usage

Speed Meter GO calculates your internet speed and data usage locally on your device. We use Android's native TrafficStats API to measure the volume of data transmitted and received. We strictly DO NOT monitor, intercept, or analyze the content of your network traffic, browsing history, or the websites you visit.

2. Local Data Storage

All your historical data usage statistics (daily, monthly, and lifetime usage) are saved completely offline on your device's local storage (SharedPreferences). We do not have any external servers, and your data is NEVER uploaded, synced, or transmitted to us or any third parties.

3. Required Permissions

To function properly, the app requires specific permissions: 'FOREGROUND_SERVICE' & 'POST_NOTIFICATIONS' (to display the real-time speed in your status bar continuously), and 'ACCESS_NETWORK_STATE' & 'INTERNET' (only to detect whether you are connected to Mobile Data or WiFi). These are used strictly for core functionality.

4. No Tracking or Analytics

We respect your privacy. Speed Meter GO does not include any third-party tracking tools, analytics SDKs, or advertising networks that collect your personal data or device identifiers.

5. Third-Party Services

The app does not integrate with external third-party services that process your personal information. It is a standalone utility designed to work entirely independently on your smartphone.

6. Changes to This Privacy Policy

We may update our Privacy Policy from time to time. Thus, you are advised to review this page periodically for any changes. We will notify you of any changes by posting the new Privacy Policy on this page.
